How Large Is the Grant

Within the framework of a Youth Programming Wellness Grant Target provides funding that ranges from $10,000 - $1,000,000. Most of the grants are one-time and are awarded annually, but occasionally multi-year investments may be considered depending on the scope and sustainability of the program.


Only federally tax-exempt section 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, public agencies operating in the U. S. or one of its protectorates (such as public schools, public libraries, public parks, etc.), school districts, accredited schools, charter schools or private schools are eligible for a charitable contribution. All qualifying organizations may apply but priority may be given to those working with underserved communities, including communities or schools where 75% or more of the students are eligible for free or reduced price lunch.

Screening Criteria
Preference will be given to the proposals that are:
- innovative, and fresh;
- based on research, with proven or expected outcomes;
- focused on youth (pre-K to 12th grade) an d/or communities where 75% or more of students qualify for free or reduced price lunch;
- feasible and accessible for children and/or families of all skill levels;
- ongoing programs and initiatives, including the seasonal ones.
